Hi everyone. It’s a new week and as always it is loaded with several tech events you may not want to miss. We at Technext, have curated a list of upcoming tech events this week that you might want to look out for. This compilation includes tech events coming up between November 12th and November 17th, 2018.

CodeLagos Out-of-School Programme

An initiative of the Lagos State Government to teach the state’s residents how to code, CodeLagos out-of-school programme is aimed towards teaching one million Lagosians how to code before 2020 and position Lagos as the technology frontier for Africa.

Currently in its 5th batch,the 6 weeks training would be equipping participants with essential coding skills including Java and Python programming, Oracle’s Alice and Greenfoot, as well as Blockchain Technology.

Venue: Lagos

Date: Commences today 12th November 2018.

Time: 8 am and 12:30 pm.

Future Energy Nigeria

Future Energy Nigeria is a dedicated professional project powered by the West African Power Industry Convention (WAPIC). Its purpose is to drive new and existing industry relationships to support the privatisation of the Nigerian power space. It also aims to provide solutions for current energy challenges. Future Energy Nigeria is a conference for consultative content. It is also an exhibition platform for trade deals as well as ensures good networking for business growth.

Venue: Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Date: Tuesday 13th – Wednesday 14th, November 2018.

Lagos Small Business Summit 2018

The Lagos Small Business Summit is geared towards bringing leaders of various sectors together. These sectors include government, private sector, academia, policy making and small businesses. These leaders and innovative game changers will discuss the impact of policies that will affect small and medium scale businesses in Nigeria.

The theme for this year is ‘Breaking New Frontiers; Nigeria as a platform for going global’

Venue: Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Date: Thursday, 15th – Friday, 16th November, 2018.

Abeokuta Technology & Innovation Roundtable 2018

An annual convergence of awesome tech entrepreneurs, the Abeokuta Technology & Innovation Roundtable (#ATIR2018) features straight-to-the-point talks. These discussions will focus on implementation of innovating strategies and access to exclusive online resources on 21st century digital tools to learn, connect and share.

Akure Global Techstars Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend is one of the best ways to support your local community and explore firsthand experience on what the startup ecosystem in Nigeria has to offer for the global market.

The Startup Weekend would provide an avenue for startups to share ideas, meet a team, and be mentored by the industry’s finest. It would also help participants find the right tools needed to design and build new products, services or businesses in the space of a single, fast-paced weekend.
