Team Credital has emerged winner of ‘Kingdom Hack,’ a faith-based Hackathon, organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Team Credital led a pack of 8 other teams that participated to clinch the grand prize.

Team Credital won the Hackathon with its peer-2-peer lending platform which explores the lending market place in Nigeria. Team LinkUp came second and walked away with N500,000. In third place was Team Wagro which walked N250,000.
Held between November 1-3 2018, the 72-hour competition was themed “Income /Wealth Redistribution and Poverty Eradication.” It was designed to provide answers to “how can we use technology to inspire and enable redistribution of wealth and greater generosity in the Christian community?” It encourages participants to utilise the innovative forces within the Technology sector with the intent to make a Christian impact on culture.

As such, about 9 teams of hackers from different parts of the country came together and were tasked with the responsibility of developing innovative solutions. After mentoring by experts (which included Bayo Adekanmbi, Chief Transformation Officer, MTN Nigeria), the teams pitched their ideas. The top three teams were chosen by the panel of judges.
The featured judges were experts in various subjects’ matter in the tech community within and outside Nigeria. Busola Oyefeso, CEO Tailorbricks, Kayode Adeyinka, Co-MD Jumia Ghana, and Babajide Asegbeloyin, Techspace Ecosystem Business FCMB .

This is the first time a church, and in this case a very powerful church, will back a tech event such as a hackathon and we can not but look forward to more involvement by others soon.
