WEEKLY ROUNDUP: Nigerian Amputee Football Team Wins First World Cup Match, Apple Launches new Gadgets, Buhari’s son Yusuf Begins NYSC and More

Happy new month to you all and welcome to our weekly roundup. This is where we bring you a summary of all the tech news, eye-catching events and social media trends that took place during the week. Ranging from the Nigeria Amputee football team, the Special Eagles winning their first-ever Amputee World Cup game in Mexico to the launching of the new ipad pro, Mac mini and Mac air by Apple. Buckle your seat belts because it’s going to be an exciting ride.

Nigerian Amputee Football Team Gets First World Cup Victory.

Nigerians rallied round the Special Eagles to ensure they made it to the World Cup. The NFF, Super Eagles players, Mikel Obi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, all played pivotal roles in helping the team to Mexico for the 2018 Amputee World Cup. After enduring losses in their first two games, the Nigerian Amputee Football team, nicknamed ‘Special Eagles’ finally recorded their first victory at the tournament.

Give it up for history makers!

Nigerians celebrated the victory as if the team won the World Cup even though they didn’t make it beyond their group. Nigerians chose to celebrate their strength for achieving that feat despite their their hasty and inadequate preparation. Some didn’t even care, insisting that lone win meant the team has won the trophy.

I am super excited as Nigerian amputee football team wins world cup trophy.

Even with the new amazing features, some people still think the costs are very high.

President Buhari’s Son, Yusuf Begins NYSC in Abuja

The National Youth Service Corp is a programme designed for Nigerian graduates to partake in in order to have served their country. But some graduates don’t submit themselves for the mandatory service, usually due to their influential families or personal connections to the corridors of power.

But it appears Yusuf Buhari, son of Nigeria’s president is changing the narrative with his latest move. The only surviving son of the president has reportedly enrolled for the NYSC programme in Abuja.

Seems everybody is now taking this NYSC very serious after the scandal it brought upon the former ministers of finance and communication.

Well that’s all for this week. Have a great weekend. Catch you again next week.
