Hi everyone. It’s a new week and as usual it is loaded with several tech events you may not want to miss. We at Technext, have curated a list of upcoming events that you might want to be part of. This compilation includes tech events coming up between October 15th and 20th, 2018.

African Women in Technology + Business

African Women in Technology and Business is an initiative birthed by Nectar Hub Software Company. Its objective is to support women in the technology and business sector in Africa to start, launch or improve their career within the Business and Technology space.

Attendees of this event would get access to local and global funding opportunities, support from the community, training and mentorship. The programme is endorsed and hosted by the United States Consulate General, Lagos.

Hacktoberfest Yabatech

Hacktoberfest is all about encouraging meaningful contributions to the open source ecosystem. Brought to you by DigitalOcean in partnership with GitHub and Twilio, Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software. You do not need to be a developer or expert coder to participate in the Yabatech edition of this event.

You could learn how to become an open source contributor, get a chance to work with others on your ideas, network and get refreshed.

Venue: Drafting Studio, Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos.

Seedstars Lagos

Seedstars World is coming to Lagos! The 10 best startups from Lagos will be invited to pitch their creative ideas in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage startup of 2018. The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits which includes a bootcamp and investors forum.

In addition to seeing the top startups talk about their ideas, attendees can look forward to an event filled with disruptive tech, inspirational discussions and networking sessions.

‘Launched In Africa’ Gathering

The Launched In Africa Gathering is designed to bring local startups and creative communities together to network and collaborate.

Organized by SMW Lagos 2019, AfricaNXT in collaboration with Ken-Saro Wiwa Innovation Hub, the event is a platform for African-led early-stage startups to learn about more about #LaunchedInAfrica, SMW Lagos 2019, AfricaNXT and how they can get involved by showcasing products and services that are disrupting industries across the continent.

dotnetConf Lagos 2018

This meetup is designed for .NET  users and its a chance to learn, interact and get inspired for your next software project. Attendees will learn to build for web, mobile, desktop, games, services, libraries and several other platforms and devices all with .NET.

This conference is open to both beginners and professional developers with a wide selection of speakers from the community (InterSwitch, Alat by Wema, Microsoft /MVP) and .NET product teams. There will also be lots of demos on .NET Core and ASP.NET Core, C#, F#, Azure, Visual Studio, Xamarin and others.
