The 12-month training program, slated to hold in Accra, Ghana, is designed to provide these individuals with the skills and opportunity to become world-class software developers and receive funding for their tech startups.
The students, known as Entrepreneurs in Training (EITs), would be completing a graduate-level (MBA) course in software development, business, and communications. This would be after 12 months of rigorous entrepreneurial training and extensive hands-on project work to ensure the EITs are fully equipped to build a successful global software/tech company.
EITs would also have access to a series of guest lectures and mentoring from experienced executives and successful entrepreneurs. EITs would also form teams, come up with an idea, build and validate a product that is scalable. The year-long training would then culminate in a final exam in the form of a pitch event, after which some companies will receive $50k – $100k in seed funding and enter the prominent MEST Incubator.
