Greenhouse Lab Female Accelerator Kicks Off First Cohort with 9 Female-Led Startups Selected

Nigeria’s first female-focused tech accelerator programme in Nigeria, GreenHouse Lab, finally launched its first cohort with 9 women-led startups selected. Organised by Greenhouse Capital, in collaboration with Venture Garden Group, the accelerator is a 3-month accelerator program that is focused solely on early-stage, women-led technology startups in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as African run startups based in the US or UK with scalable products in African markets.

It is designed to provide these startups with the skills, resources, and support needed to rapidly grow and scale their companies in emerging African markets.

The 9 startups chosen for its first cohort are AllPro, a Nigerian EdTech startup; AMPZ.tv, an online MediaTech startup on sports; Bankly Technologies, a digital banking platform; BitMama, a crypto-fiat exchange startup; and Kozzi Homes, a startup that connects clients to professionals in the housing industry.

Others include Nicademia, a video/animation streaming and distribution company; Social Lender, an online lending solution platform; Versus, a data-driven comparison platform; and Xigma Input and Output Centre Technology, an energy startup.

The 3-months program will run from mid-August to mid-November and will be hosted at Vibranium Valley – Venture Gardens Group’s recently launched tech campus in Lagos. It will then culminate in a Demo and Investment Day where each startup will pitch in front of an audience of key entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders and media from the global tech ecosystem during which GreenHouse Capital will also invest a minimum of $100,000 in companies that qualify and reach specific milestones at the end of the program.

GreenHouse Lab has also teamed up with Google Developers Launchpad to support the startup industry. The partnership, “GreenHouse Lab Powered by Google Developers Launchpad,” will connect GreenHouse Lab to an elite group of the world’s top accelerators, access Google’s global network, insights from the company’s Silicon Valley-based startup programs on building businesses, products and teams.
