Nigeria’s first digital ecosystem startupHubs.ng, has launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital assistant, Emily, which is integrated with its new app.

The 2018 winner of the  Digital Africa Start-pitch, is focused on digitalizing every prominent service in Nigeria’s physical ecosystem by building products and services –technology solutions, designed for Nigerians. It has furthered its very mission with the creation of this AI assistant.

Emily is designed to deliver friendly conversations with users on what they want to do with a smooth user experience as well as double as a customer care agent for review and questions from users. After which, all reviews and questions are further handled by real customer care representatives with replies sent to respective users.

Speaking on the innovation, Hubs.ng’s Chief Operations Officer, Philia Mic-Julius said, “Emily’s impact will be the conversion of a visitor to an active user because Emily’s approach is friendly and answers the users’ questions on what they would like to do on Hubs.ng.”

Emily is an in-app assistant for the Hubs.ng digital ecosystem. We released it as part of our continuous effort to create a better user experience for our users. Emily helps users to find the appropriate service they need, looking at our collection of services it will be easier to have an assistant to help choose. –Philia Mic-Julius

This is not the first time a Nigerian startup is keying into the use of AI assistants on its platform, as several financial institutions already make use of this solution as their customer service agents. Therefore, it is only ideal for a digital ecosystem startup like Hubs.ng to key into it.
