Publiseer Gets Accepted Into the UCT Solution Space Venture Incubation Programme

Nigerian digital publishing company, Publiseer, has been accepted into the 2018 Winter school of the Solution Space Venture Incubation Programme. This was disclosed by the startup via its Twitter handle.

The incubation programme is an initiative of the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, South Africa in collaboration with industry partner MTN. The programme runs twice a year selects about 15 of the best startups across Africa offering digital solutions in various areas, including FinTech, e-commerce, HealthTech, sport & news, IoT, energy, AgriTech, and EdTech.

Publiseer happens to be one of the startups chosen for the second edition of the programme this year, which will run from 3rd September to 30 November 2018 in Cape Town, South Africa.

About the Venture Incubation Programme (VIP)

Venture Incubation Programme (VIP) is a 3-month programme designed to provide a supportive ecosystem to help startups build viable and scalable innovation-driven companies. The VIP offers startups proof-of-concept (POC) collaboration opportunities with industry partner MTN Group and a pool of other early-stage investors.

Since its inception in 2016, the Venture Incubation Programme has supported various successful businesses, such as eating out app Feastfox and chatting platform Chat2Brand, as well as online emotional intelligence platform Mygrow and consumer neuroscience consultancy Neural Sense.

Publiseer and other selected startups would be provided with a range of resources, including co-working space, practical learning clinics, mentors, weekly check-ins and staff advisors, a community of peers who learn and grow together, and funding (an amount of R300k – or its equivalent value).

The 12-week programme would also help these startups develop their idea, test their product in the market, build their team, and establish a viable business.

For the digital publishing platform, this is not the first endorsement it would receive as its reputation has soared in recent times, including being named one of the “Most Needed Companies in the Region” as well as emerging a finalist at the Harvard Business School New Venture Competition.

This continued recognition is really a good one for the 1-year-old platform helping Africa writers and musicians distribute and monetize their creative works across over 400 digital stores, at no charge, with just a single click.
