An interesting two-day agriculture enlightening event is concluding today in Lagos, Nigeria.

The 2018 Feeding Futures Africa summit drew quite a large following of youths both online and offline. The event packed plenty of fun and intelligent talks that made it to trend on Twitter.

Organized by the HEDA Resource Centre, a Non-Governmental Organization, the Feeding Futures Africa summit brought hundreds of youths to discuss important issues about agriculture and agro policymaking in Nigeria.

The event which started yesterday, August 14 in Lagos, was aimed at enlightening the youths about the importance of agriculture and the role they can play. To make this impactful, the event also featured a couple of policymakers and entrepreneurs in the industry.

On the first day of the event, there were discussions by Government and other policymakers.

At the event, the Agroconnect app was formally launched. Developed by an NGO, the Agroconnect app helps to share information. The app is a part of Agroconnect’s web portal that informs and educates farmers, agropreneurs, and all agriculture enthusiasts on the different aspects of the Nigerian food industry.

On day two, a lot of focus was on panel discussions and actually enlightening guests about the issues (good and bad) facing the agro-sector. As at the time of writing this, three panels with panelists drawn from a cadre of agro-industry watchers and players had been concluded.
