Early-Stage Nigerian Startups Can Now Apply for the $20k Outlier Venture Lab Accelerator Program

Early-stage Nigerian startups are being invited to apply for the Outlier Venture Lab, a business accelerator for tech-driven startups who are building innovative solutions to the challenges in Nigeria.

The accelerator is aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with high growth and high impact potential to become scalable and investment ready. This is the first edition of the accelerator programme and it is looking to invest in startups who are leveraging technology and bringing new product or services to solve challenges within their communities and to support the development of such startups companies so they can be matched with its partner investors.

The startups interested in applying must ensure that they are based in Nigeria and must have been operating for over a year in sectors like Agriculture, food, health, FinTech, environment. Startups must also have a tech-enabled solution with a significant social impact as well as have paying customers.

After the submission of applications, selected startups would be invited to a 3-day pre-accelerator Bootcamp where they would pitch to a selected closed audience of seasoned investors from the Outlier Venture Lab Funding Network. After which, 10 start-ups will be selected to advance to the acceleration program. The selected startups will be offered $20,000 in equity funding, a 3-month of mentorship and training from industry leaders in exchange for up to 18% equity. Startups will also get the opportunity to pitch in front of seasoned investors, access to a network of Outlier Venture Lab partners for go-to-market and media publicity.
