Nigerian digital publishing platform, Publiseer, has been gaining plenty of attention recently, and it deserves to. Over the last 30 days, it has scored a new partnership, pitched at Disrupt Africa, and disclosed its impressive earnings report. The startup just added a new achievement to its growing list.

Publiseer has been selected as one of the few startups to compete at this year’s Startup Istanbul. This was disclosed by Startup Istanbul‘s managing partner, Elif Coskunkan, on June 2.

What is Startup Istanbul?

Startup Istanbul is a leading startup event hosted in Turkey. The event brings together founders, investors and executives in the region. Organised by Etohum, a startup accelerator, Startup Istanbul is a gathering of the leading startups, Internet companies, business angels and venture capitalists from Asia and Europe.

This year, the Startup Istanbul Challenge will hold on 19 – 22 October 2018.

As a participant, Publiseer will be privy to a few perks. First, it gets 3 tickets for its founders and team members. The team also gets 3 tickets for a boat tour of the Bosphorous. Publiseer also gets a Startup Booth to showcase its service offerings. The startup also gets privy to 3 webinars before the event, a one-to-one pitching training, and a tour of the Istanbul Technical University Technopark.

Also on the cards for Publiseer is a how-to workshop on establishing a company in Turkey. The startup also gets a huge exposure to the 500 startups, 500 investors and 4000 attendees at this year’s event.

Publiseer won’t be the first African or even Nigerian company to participate in a Startup Istanbul event. Last year, a Nigerian FinTech company, Advancio Interactive, won the Challenge; and way back in 2015, Kenyan startup Nims won the challenge.

Publiseer Continues to Record More Growth

Publiseer’s selection into Startup Istanbul comes at a very interesting time for the company.

It also got licenses for over 200 new releases and plans to get more deals in both audio and digital book publishing.
