Take Real Action Against Corruption With the DoroCorruption App

Avatar

In a bid to use technology in tackling corruption in Nigeria, the #SayNoCampaign, an initiative of the Federal Government developed the DoroCorruption app. The DoroCorruption app informs Nigerians about the latest trends in the anti-corruption sphere, as well as give members of the public and private sector an opportunity to conveniently report cases of corruption.

Speaking at the launch of the mobile app early this year, Obono-Obla, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Prosecution, stated that the lack of adequate information from the public was stalling efforts by the government to recover assets.

He said the anti-corruption fight can only succeed when Nigerians speak out and refuse to condone the act which he described as an ill-wind that would bring no good.

The app was developed to help individuals assist the government with vital information that will help in fighting corruption in the country.  The Doro Corruption app encourages citizens to take real and deliberate action against corruption.

Available for download on the Apple App Store; as well as the Google Play free, the app got its name from the popular Nigeria song by the Mavin record “Doro Buccci”. Though some users have their reservation about the name of the App saying something as important as corruption should not be linked with a song title, but obviously, the creators just wanted something everybody can relate with.

Last updated in April this year to version 1.1.6, the mobile app is compatible with  Android version 4.4 and above and iOS 9.0 and above.
