The Know Your Rights Nigeria app, Developed by Mr. Adeola Aus-tin Oyinlade of Constitutional Rights Awareness and Liberty Initiative (CRALI) in Nigeria with support from U.S. Consul General, F. John Bray, explains and simplifies human rights law.

Every Nigerian has rights, duties, liabilities and privileges, which are provided for in the hundreds of laws that exist in Nigeria. As a Nigerian, do you know you have a right to life, right to Dignity, right to freedom of assembly and association?  You can actually find out more on your rights with the Know Your Rights app.

Originally developed in 2016 to promote human rights in the country, the app was recently expanded to Pidgin, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba languages.

The App creates a platform to access legal aid and report human rights violations in Nigeria to human rights groups, the police human rights desk and some government agencies that take up infringement of human rights seriously.

The Know your rights Nigeria app has been able to pull over 50,000 users from all over the world. The app educates Nigerians about their rights also give them access to free legal advice and an opportunity to report human rights abuse.

With a simple and nicely-crafted user interface, the app is easy to navigate, lets you create a personal account after downloading , and gives you the option to select the language you want to be serviced in. The Know Your Rights Nigeria app is also has a web portal, just in case you’d rather access the app on your PC.

The current version 1.3.2 is 11 megabit in size and has a 3+ content rating and is compatible with android version 4.0.3 and above. The app is available on Google Play store & Apple store. Non-Smart phone users can use the web version for free.
