This week, on our social media roundup, we will be reviewing a highly vituperative social media space especially as the#EndSARS campaign trended for more than 5 days. Yes, many other memorable events occurred and we are going to share.

#EndSARS
Nigerians this week came out in their numbers to lend their voice to support the campaign against officers of the Nigerian Police from Special Anti Robbery Squad unit, popularly known as ‘SARS’.
Dear Nigerian Police, stop defending such officers and start defending the citizens
https://t.co/ewhsOvItJA#EndSARS— RUGGEDMAN (@RuggedyBaba) December 3, 2017
This followed numerous complaints of alleged assault, attack, killing and violation of Fundamental Human Rights by SARS officers especially on young Nigerians (especially when you carry a backpack and look well fed).
Many prominent figures like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Remi Sonaiya, Oby Ezekwesili have lent their voice to support the campaign.
The arbitrary harassment of young Nigerians by Police (who should be protecting them) has no place in a democratic society.
The #EndSARS protest shows Nigerian youth are upset and the matter needs urgent attention.
— Atiku Abubakar (@atiku) December 3, 2017
What's all this pressure on Nigerians, as if we have to prove #PoliceBrutality? The people aren't crazy. When @NigeriaPolice becomes our friend, we'll definitely recognize it. #EndSARS

And the celebrities were not left out:

In response, the Nigerian Police Force released channels of communication for the public to report incidents of assault and the Inspector General of Police ordered the reform of the unit nationwide.

#Atiku
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People Democratic Party (PDP) officially this week. Many people feel it is long coming anyways. But, it was official this week.
As expected the PDP welcomed him ‘back home’
Breaking News! The former Vice President, @atiku has formally rejoined the @OfficialPDPNig. He made the announcement today, Sunday December 3, 2017 via a live broadcast on his official Facebook account. https://t.co/ZsRkmUuTOc pic.twitter.com/MoBofprtaN

And, while some say it’s a nice development many people feel otherwise.
The question is not @Atiku and anyone who will join him in @officialpdpnigeria but will you vote PDP in 2019?
— Optimistic Muhammed (@trueNija) December 3, 2017
Dear PDP,
Now that @atiku has joined your fold, please make him your presidential candidate.
He is your best chance at winning in 2019.
His pocket is deep. Money wont be a problem. We need his/our money to boost our economy
Do this for Nigerians with good conscience
Regards

Atiku doesnt have capacity to solve problems, he runs away from them, ask PDP, ACN and APC.
Atiku economic mgt credential is questionable. He doesn't hv flair for competition which modern economy thrives on.He craves monopoly.Ask INTEL&Japaul Maritimes Ltd.
Dont tell me nonsense!— Mr. Sam… (PositiveMantra🌟 🌟🌟) (@skaalbgroup) December 4, 2017
I honestly think that Atiku is the most reasonable candidate i have seen so far. I already like his appraoch. The APC is risking alot allowing such big fish to decamp back to PdP. Compared to buhari, atiku is way smarter and would probably make a better president.

Atiku has awoken Buhari from his slumber. He has been jerked up to reality and out of his comfort zone. He has remembered his biggest support base and is running to assure his supporters in Kano. This will not save Buhari in 2019. He's on his way to Daura. #PMBInKano
