The transport and logistics sector in Nigeria is about to have a new entrant. Alpha1 Rides is a technology platform company that is going offer Nigerians another convenient option to hail cabs and move from one destination to another with fewer hassles. The company has announced that it is set to begin operations on September 1.
Although the details about the company are yet to be made known (founders, location, worth etc.), what is evident is that the owners intend to make an impact on the market by meeting users frustrations with the services provided by current industry players with quality service and technology.
According to Ejoke Okpan, Alpha1 Rides Customer Relations Manager, “to be the ride hailing company of choice using up-to-date technology to offer quality service to meet customers’ needs. Alpha 1 Rides promises to provide timely and comfortable rides to all customers and move goods to where ever they are needed in the Lagos metropolis and beyond. What is special about our services is the personal service we render to every customer whom we treat as kings”
He listed the Alpha1 offerings to include City Rides, Airport Pick Up, Office Shuttle and Limo Service. Others are Alpha1 Deliveries and School Runs. all of which are technology-backed. He identified prospective customers as “Providers and Riders” and invited intending users to simply download the Alpha1 App on the Google Play Store or the App Store.
The already saturated ride hailing industry has been plagued by negative incidents recently, so much that a new, more convenient option will be a welcomed idea. The big question really is how much of the pressure Alpha1 Rides able to take. What are they going to do differently?
